Peace Pantry

Members of Church of Peace recognized a need in our communities to provide care packages, other than food, to those in need. Peace Pantry supports Church of Peace’s Mission to Love, Hope, Respect, Empower, Forgive & Belong.

When is Peace Pantry available?
Peace Pantry is open the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 12pm-3pm.

Where is Peace Pantry located?
Peace Pantry is located in the lower level of Church of Peace which is located at 1500 S Cascade St in Fergus Falls. Church of Peace is about 3 blocks south of the Cancer Care & Research Center. The building is brown brick and there are multi-colored flags hanging on the brick wall that share our values of “Belong – Forgive – “Ignite Peace” – Empower – Hope – Respect – Love”. Please use the lower level entrance that is in the basement of the church directly off Cascade St. There will be a sign out for Peace Pantry at the end of the entrance.

What is included in the care package?
Visitors to Peace Pantry are able to walk through and choose the items they prefer with assistance from our volunteer, Renne. Items include diapers, wipes, cleaning supplies, personal care items, feminine hygiene products, coloring books, books for reading, puzzle books, blankets, and many more items. The content of the care package changes each month as donations are received and new items are purchased. All items are brand new and unused.

Who is eligible for a care package?
Any family in need in our communities may stop in during Peace Pantry’s open hours to request a care package. Care packages are limited to one package, per month, per family and blankets are limited to one blanket per year per family.

I have an emergency – do I have to wait until the 3rd Wednesday of the month?
Emergency situations arise and staff at Church of Peace are here to help you when you have a need. If you are facing an emergency and need items included in our care packages, please contact us for assistance. The best method of contact is messaging us on our Facebook page but you may also call our office at 218-736-6678 and leave a message or send a text to our Administrative Assistant, Glenda at 218-770-7572. We understand there are many incidents that could be considered an emergency but feel our emergency service should be utilized by those with a great need. Examples would be a family who has suffered a house fire, a loss due to storms, or a family who has faced another emergent situation.

I’m unable to make it to Peace Pantry the 3rd Wednesday of the month – what can I do?
We advertise open dates for Peace Pantry frequently and share our open times on our Facebook page, area Swap & Shop sites, and we invite those who have previously attended Peace Pantry through text or calls well in advance of each open date. You may ask a friend, family member, or neighbor to pick up your care package for you. Text our Administrative Assistant, Glenda, at 218-770-7572 if you are having difficulty attending Peace Pantry on the scheduled date.
